I’ve been shooting more often lately and needed to restock on some ammo. I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but the firearms industry is a weird place in the sense that there are a lot of scammers and fake sites that sell the smaller stuff like parts and ammo. So whenever I go to buy ammo, I look through the various sites that list all the dealers. There’s always some new dealer popping up.

For me, this time it was BH Ammo out of Florida, which I’ve never purchased from. So the first thing I did was Google, “Is BH Ammo legit?” and to prove my point, other people asked the same thing. After reading through some reviews and forums, some people actually said it wasn’t legit, while some complained of bad communication or slow shipping. For me, I was buying Federal American Eagle 147gr 9mm, and at the time, BH Ammo had it significantly cheaper than anywhere else. I think it was like a $100 difference.

This was enough for me to take the chance, considering that some people did mention that they ordered from them multiple times and did have a good experience. So I placed my order. The package shipped the following day and arrived exactly one week later, which was expected as it was going from Florida to Washington state.

In terms of packaging, it’s kind of weak. You can tell it’s been damaged, opened, and retaped. On the inside, all the ammo was there, but every ammo carrier was broken and there was some loose ammo in the individual boxes. Not that big of a deal for me because I removed all the ammo from the boxes and put it loose into one ammo can, but it might be a problem for some people.

Now, one interesting thing that I saw was that BH Ammo was like a block away from another store called Berelli, which I have done business with. Some people online were saying that it’s probably the same company. I think I can confirm this because I received an email from UPS saying that my order was coming soon, and it shipped from Berelli. So it seems like BH Ammo is Berelli, and it’s just a sister company that focuses on ammo rather than all the other gear that Berelli focuses on.

To sum it up, I received my order. Everything looks as it should, and if I find some more good deals from BH Ammo, I’m going to be ordering more from them. I hope this has helped anyone else who was also wondering if BH Ammo is legit.
