Street Photography with the Fujifilm XT-1

August 10, 2015 in Review

I recently got a hold of the Fujifilm XT-1 and the Fujinon 35mm f/1.4. I've been traveling around with the combo and have to say that it's growing on me. I've been using the Nikon F3 as my daily walk around/street photography camera and that works great, but the turn around time to when I actually get to examine the photos is too long. Using a film camera makes me slow down a lot and really focus on the photos as there is no going back. That might be a good thing but does not help with what I'm trying to accomplish.

I decided on the XT-1 mainly because of the form factor. This thing is TINY...compared to using one of my DSLRs. It is so much lighter! It actually came down to the XT-1 or the Nikon DF. Both are very different from one another but are kind of geared towards the same people, camera hipsters. Both have the retro styling but are obviously very modern. I decided on the Fuji because I feel like it is a more functional camera for my use. So far I'm quite happy with the camera. After getting used to some of its quirks, the Fuji has become very functional. If you're interested, I may actually come out with a full review after having some more time with the Fuji. Until next time..
